Front Desk Team
Elizabeth has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2015. Her experience includes, ROP classes for a medical assistant, and an internship in Ophthalmology at Camp Pendleton in 2012. A core member of the Front Desk Team, Elizabeth is ready, and happy to greet everyone with a smile, come rain or shine. The effortless multitasking skills she exhibits to ensure all patients and co-workers needs are being addressed is amazing to watch. She enjoys a wide variety of hobbies including movies, cooking, art, dancing, going to church, and spending time with her family.
Cynthia, affectionately known as “Cindy” in the office, has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2016. She has 28 years of experience in the medical field, although Redhawk is her first step into the Ophthalmic field. Cindy is the picture of excellent customer service and brightens up the office with her sweet words, and daily positivity. She is a real treat for all Redhawk patients. It’s been almost 30 years since she moved back to California from Massachusetts, and we’re all happy to have her here. Her hobbies include cooking, pilates, walking and sewing.
Rebeca has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2018, but has been in the field since 2014. She is quickly showing Redhawk Vision Center, and patients her solid grasp of Optics. A social butterfly, with a “can do” personality, youcan either find her with the Front Desk Team or helping out with the Optical Team. She’s also bilingual in English/Spanish. Rebeca was in girl scouts at the age of 8, she enjoys working out, hiking and shopping.
Margarita has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2009. She completed a dispensing Optician course in 2006, and continues to stay current with continuing education classes. Her detailed knowledge of lens technology, fitting frames and remembering all the past patients,( their names, purchases,needs) is true to our mission, our patients are like family. Whether you’re an existing patient or a new patient, you will be captivated by Margarita’s warm smile, her affectionate laugh,and her commitment to meeting the need of each patient. She’s also bilingual in English/Spanish. When she’s not working, she enjoys hiking with her dog Milo.
Eva has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2014. She has worked in the optical field since 2008,and achieved her American Board of Opticianry (ABO) license in 2010. She is currently studying to take her National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) examination, as well. Her bright, sunny personality, personal stylish frames, and her wealth of knowledge leaves every patient with confidence of professionalism from selecting a frame, lenses to contact lens training. She is a mother of three, and enjoys arts and crafts with her children. Also, Eva enjoys great food, glasses and traveling.
Ashley Van Gorkum
Ashley has been an employee at Redhawk Vision Center since 2016. She has been in the field since 2011, with vast experience in all areas of optical, including surfacing lenses in a lab. She achieved her American Board of Opticianry (ABO) license in 2015, and is currently planning to take her National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) examination, as well. She has a bubbly personality and a true love to help others. Her focus, attention to every detail, gives the patient an enriched personalized experience. Her interests include writing, cold weather, traveling, and studying Japanese.
Michelle has been and employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2018, but has worked in Optometry since 2017. She received her Medical Assistant Certificate in 2016, and stays current with continuing education classes. Michelle is currently attending California State University San Marcos. She is known to brighten up the office with her homemade baked goods. Her hobbies are baking, cooking, reading and her pets.
Jessika has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2017. She obtained her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) license in 2015. Jessika consistently goes the extra mile to help patients feel welcomed, keep the clinic, back office running smooth, and always has a sweet smile for all. She is wonderful at setting a relax tone in the office, assisting the doctor with pretesting, and all medical authorizations, follow-up visits. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, one year old son, and being outdoors.
Emily has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2018, but in the optical field since 2017. Her confidence and efficiency brings a pleasant experience to all patients she encounters. She is currently learning American Sign Language. Her hobbies are reading, and rock climbing.
Sarah has been an employee at Redhawk Vision Center since 2016. She achieved her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) license in 2013, and began her work in the field in 2014. Sarah graduated from California State University San Marcos, December 2016,with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She’s also bilingual in English/Spanish. Her eagerness and friendly personality brings an unique and warm experience to all patients she encounters. Sarah also enjoys hiking, working out, and spending her weekends in San Diego.
Shannon has been an employee of Redhawk Vision Center since 2007. She has been in the field for 19 years, beginning in 1999. She received her American Board of Opticianry (ABO) license in 2003, and continues her education, staying current with the changing field of Optics. Her primary position in the office is the billing department, but with her expertise, you will find her multi-tasking throughout the office. Shannon’s calm demeanor with her wealth of knowledge is truly valued at Redhawk. She has the answer for patients, coworkers, and doctors making her a pillar of Redhawk Vision Center. She enjoys taking walks outdoors, leisure activities in her home, dining out with friends and trips to Disneyland.
